The school’s reputation for exciting and inspiring teaching grew and it became obvious that it had to move!
Rachel designed her ideal teaching kitchen and converted a beautiful Georgian building into Demuths Cookery School.
Demuths now runs a range of classes and longer course with intense learning on the Vegetarian and Vegan Diplomas, weekend day classes and evening workshops for locals and tourists.
Popular courses include Fast and Delicious, Southern Indian Thali, Thai and Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, Spanish and Italian. In addition to our wide range of vegetarian classes, we offer vegan classes, gluten free and raw. Students come from as far afield as the Lebanon and USA for our Diploma courses and we believe we are the only school in the UK currently offering a Vegan Diploma.
Courses focus on encouraging students to be confident with techniques, knife skills, using spices and herbs and increasing their knowledge of vegetarian and vegan cookery. All courses are full of nutritional and technical tips and the school prides itself on making plant-based cookery accessible to all. Around half of the school’s students are none vegetarians who are interested in reducing their intake of meat and fish and exploring how exciting cooking with vegetables can be.
